I’ve said it many times before and I’ll probably say it many more times: I believe that EVERYONE is creative. ✨
You don’t need to be a professional artist or musician to be able to call yourself creative. Creativity comes in so many different forms.
Whether you’re into building things, marketing, fashion, or anything else. Creativity comes in all shapes and forms!
I’m someone who loves getting creative. I love writing, drawing, painting crocheting, and creative journaling.
But there are some days when I can’t bring myself to do any of these things, as much as I enjoy them.
Some days, inspiration is hard to find.
So what do we do when we can’t seem to find inspiration?
Here are 7 ways to find inspiration if and when you need it!
1- Unplug for a while.
I feel like when we spend too much time on social media, consuming too much news, and just spending too much time online in general, it can sometimes suck inspiration from us. Sometimes we just need to unplug and spend time with ourselves for a while. When we put the distractions aside and spend our time meditating, journaling, or being with nature, it can do a lot to clear our minds and leave us feeling super inspired.
2- Books, movies, or music.
Books, movies, and music can be great sources of inspiration. Create a playlist full of music that you love. If you’re a bookworm like me, read an inspiring story or motivational book. If you love movies, watch your favorite movie. Documentaries are a great source of inspiration, too!

3- Create a vision board.
Vision boards can be so inspiring. Seeing your goals and dreams every day in one place can really help bring them to life. It’s a great way to motivate you to go out and get them done, too. I wrote a whole post about how to create a vision board that works for YOU. Check it out right here if you’re interested!
4- Look around online.
I know I said that spending too much time online can suck the inspiration out of you. But when you’re not overdoing it, the internet can be a great source of inspiration too. There are so many things you can do to get inspired online. If you spend just a few minutes on Pinterest, you’re bound to get inspired by something – even though it’s hard to spend JUST a few minutes on Pinterest, haha. There are also so many blogs that can provide you with inspiration. There are tons of inspiring TED talks and YouTube videos, too. Just browse around and you’ll probably find something that can get you inspired!
5- Step out of your comfort zone.
Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone can help you grow a lot. Sometimes when you’re feeling uninspired, it’s your mind’s way of telling you to try something new. When you step out of your comfort zone, you might be able to see things from a new perspective. It can leave you feeling excited and inspired!
6- Focus on self-care
A year or so ago, I had a pretty successful blog. But I ended up having a sort of mental breakdown and I completely lost all inspiration. Even after I started recovering from the breakdown, I still had no motivation and I ended up not renewing my domain and losing the blog. So, I took time to focus on myself, start a new hobby, and give myself space. Then, I suddenly got inspired again and started this blog. I had SO many ideas of things that I wanted to do and create. Sometimes when you’re burned out on inspiration, taking time to focus on self-care can totally renew it!

7- Change up your environment.
If you work from the same space every single day, try to switch things up. Changing up your environment can really help you change your way of thinking. If you work from home, try going to a coffee shop or a library. Or get out and explore new places like a farmer’s market or a flea market. If you can’t change where you work, try to switch things up in your environment. Make sure it’s organized and get some new decor like positive quotes, pictures, or candles!

I have been blogging for ten years. I know when I get writers block I typically browse around for topics that peak my interest. This usually gives me an idea or two on what to write.
