Some days, I’m super motivated. I crush my to-do list, I feel naturally energized and motivated, and I’m all about healthy habits.
But other days, caffeine isn’t even enough to get me going. I feel unmotivated, undisciplined, unfocused, and I’m just counting down the minutes until I’m able to just relax and climb into bed.
I wish there was a world where I felt on top of my game EVERY single day, but I don’t think that’s possible. There are certainly things we can do to increase the days like that, though!
There are certain weekly habits that can help us to feel happier, healthier, and more motivated.
So, today I wanted to share 5 weekly habits to help you live your BEST life and crush your goals!
1- Reflect.
Reflection is important in so many areas of our lives. Our work/studies, our side hustles, our relationships, our spiritual life, pretty much everything. Reflecting on what you’ve done well and what you need to do better can help you improve in everything.
It doesn’t take long to reflect on your week. Just ask yourself questions like these:
- What went well?
- What could I do better at?
- How can I improve?
- Is there anything I need?
Answering these questions can give you a better idea of what to focus on in the upcoming week.
2- Pick a mantra for the week.
Positive affirmations or mantras can actually help our mindset, so just hear me out. Many people have a phrase that they repeat to themselves when they’re in a stressful situation or need to focus. Maybe all of us don’t call it a mantra or affirmation – but most of us do have a phrase like this.
If you want to replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you need a little pick-me-up throughout the week, or you’re battling anxiety… All of these things are good reasons to choose a mantra to focus on for the week. Just choose something that speaks to you!
Here are a few examples:
- I’m getting stronger every day
- I CHOOSE to be happy
- I am worthy just as I am
3- Brain dump.
Brain dumps are super helpful and I love doing them regularly. Grab a piece of paper and just write down anything that comes to mind when you think of what you need or want to get done.
Once you have everything written down, you can organize it into certain categories, like:
- Tasks that NEED to be done this week
- Things that you WANT to get done this week
- Stuff that can be put on hold for later
4- Set some goals.
Setting goals and planning for the future is important! If you ask me, it’s probably the most important aspect of self-improvement. Having clear-cut goals to focus on for the week can get you so much closer to your dream life.
Just write down the things from #3 that you listed on your need/want-to-do list. If you have long-term goals written down somewhere (which you should) then this is the time to break them into bite-size steps that can help you get closer to those long-term goals.
5- Organize your week.
Organizing for the week ahead will literally do SO much to help you. It allows you to save time, get more done, and stay on track with all of your responsibilities and goals.
When you’re organizing your week, it’s a good idea to include plans for things like:
- Self-care (workouts, mental health care, etc)
- Social plans (can you schedule a coffee date or video chat with someone?)
- Intentional rest (rest is important)
- Work tasks (specific tasks that need to be done on certain days)
- Meal ideas (and maybe a grocery list)
- New habits (is there a new habit you want to cultivate?)
- Goal-related tasks (remember: breaking your weekly goals into smaller steps is important)
Investing in a good planner is always super helpful for this!
