I love podcasts!
I listen to podcasts pretty much every day. While I’m doing chores, doing my makeup, painting, working on this blog – just all the time.
I use Spotify to listen to podcasts 99% of the time since I have Spotify Premium. I also use Stitcher once in a while because when I find a show I really love, Stitcher sometimes has old episodes that aren’t on Spotify anymore.
Anyway, I love podcasts and the true crime genre is definitely my favorite. Once in a while, I’ll find a podcast about another topic that I enjoy but yeah, most of the time it’s true crime haha.
Hopefully, I’ll share more of these posts in the future but today I thought I’d share my 7 favorite podcasts right now! 🙂
1- True Crime Garage
I feel like I can honestly say that this is my #1 favorite podcast, ever. I am obsessed with true crime, as you can probably tell. And this is SUCH a great podcast! I love the personalities and the banter between Nic and the Captain. I also love the fact that almost all of their episodes come in 2 (or more) parts, so you get enough in-depth information into each case. This podcast is entertaining and informative, but still respectful of the victims. I cannot recommend it enough!
Recommended episode: Near Bakersfield, CA, there are three people who either went missing or were found dead. It seems like these 3 cases are all related and their families need help finding answers.
2- Obsessed With Disappeared (now called I Think Not)
I listened to True Crime Obsessed for a little while but it just wasn’t my cup of tea. But I loved Patrick Hinds’s personality so I was happy to find Obsessed With: Disappeared, which is also hosted by him! This show recaps episodes of the ID Channel’s series Disappeared, about missing people. The hosts are super funny but still take the stories of the missing people seriously.
Recommended episode: The story of Brianna Maitland, who has been missing since 2004, has always been fascinating to me. Episode 50 discusses this case.
3- True Crime All The Time & TCATT Unsolved
This is one of the more recent podcasts that I started listening to but it’s a great one! Similar to True Crime Garage, I like the banter between Mike and Gibby. They poke fun at each other, but they’re respectful of the victims. I also love that they have 2 shows, one focusing on solved cases and one focusing on unsolved cases.
Recommended episode: Their episode on the Palmer brothers was a great one, but the cases are so sad. Two brothers went missing, 11 years apart but under eerily similar circumstances.
4- Crawlspace
This is another podcast that I only recently started listening to. I got into it because OWD mentioned their coverage of the Brianna Maitland case and I immediately binged so many episodes. The hosts are professional but engaging and they go deep into the cases they discuss. Crawlspace has another podcast about Maura Murray that I’m planning to binge on soon!
Recommended episode: I have to recommend their Brianna Maitland coverage, of course. They have many episodes about it.
5- Believing The Bizarre
This is a podcast that I’ve been listening to since it first started, about a year ago. It actually talks about paranormal topics instead of true crime, haha. It’s another podcast with likable hosts, which is a must for me. They talk about things like aliens, ghosts, and cryptids. If that’s something you’re interested in, this is worth a listen!
Recommended episode: Episode 23 is about the legend that the sets of The Exorcist and Poltergeist were haunted. It’s super interesting!
6- Last Podcast On The Left
This is a really popular podcast. I listen to it on and off but right now I’ve been listening to it regularly again, haha. They talk about spooky topics, from serial killers to cults. I enjoy their weekly “Side Stories” series most, where they discuss recent news.
Recommended episode: They have a 3 part episode about Adolfo Constanzo, a drug dealer, serial killer, and Palo Mayombe cult leader. Super interesting and scary!
7- Crime Junkie
This is actually one of the first podcasts I ever really got into and I’ve loved it ever since! I love Ashley and Britt’s personalities and how passionate they are when they talk about the cases. Plus, they’re pretty local to me so that’s an added bonus, haha.
Recommended episode: Jaliek Rainwalker is a missing boy whose story hit me hard when I heard about it. If you’ve never heard of him, I recommend Crime Junkie’s episode about him!
